Growing up I actually hated art and everything about art. I didn’t have natural artistic abilities like some of my peers and I didn’t have the patience to learn them. Going into high school I needed an art credit in order to graduate and I thought, “Well, might as well get this over with.” So I decided to enroll in a photography class. Straight off the bat I loved taking photos and I started going off on little adventures to see what I could capture and I’d use my friends and family as models for projects. My teacher, Ms. Henry, saw that I had talent and advised that I take Advanced Placement Photography the following year. I ended up taking it the rest of my high school career, getting the AP credit all three years. The time came to figure out what I wanted to go to college for and I knew photography was going to be my forever passion, so why not learn more about it? And that brings us to today where I’m learning more and more about photography every day and finding new ways to test my creativity.
